Job Summary
The Logistics Manager will lead and manage all logistics and supply chain operations across multiple high-rise and infrastructure construction projects. This role is pivotal in planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end logistics strategies that ensure timely delivery and distribution of materials, equipment, and resources. The manager will ensure alignment with project schedules, safety protocols, regulatory standards, and cost controls, directly supporting smooth and efficient construction progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all logistics and transportation activities, including movement of materials, machinery, and personnel across multiple construction sites.
- Manage both horizontal and vertical logistics operations involving heavy equipment, mobile/tower cranes, construction hoists, access platforms, and other machinery.
- Supervise logistics teams, operators, and machinery, ensuring all documentation and third-party certifications are current and compliant.
- Develop and execute logistics strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with procurement, project management, and site teams to align logistics plans with construction schedules and requirements.
- Design and implement site logistics layouts, including storage zones, access roads, unloading areas, and equipment staging.
- Manage transportation activities, including permits, documentation, and coordination for incoming materials and equipment.
- Oversee warehousing, inventory control, and safe material handling practices across project sites.
- Track logistics KPIs and performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and budget adherence.
- Enforce strict adherence to HSE standards and local transportation regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with subcontractors, suppliers, freight forwarders, and local authorities.
- Develop contingency and mitigation plans for disruptions or delays in supply chain operations.
- Maintain detailed records of site deliveries, inventory levels, logistics performance, and incident reports.
- Support mobilization and demobilization phases of the project, including welfare areas, temporary offices, site facilities, and access planning.
- Lead and coordinate logistics teams across all active construction sites.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- 8–10 years of experience in logistics management within large-scale construction projects, preferably in the GCC region.
- Demonstrated success in managing logistics for high-rise buildings and major infrastructure developments.
- Strong knowledge of construction logistics, supply chain operations, and safety regulations.
- Proficient in logistics planning tools, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Well-versed in local logistics regulations, customs clearance procedures, and regional transport infrastructure.
Work Environment
- Primarily based on construction sites.
- Requires regular coordination with clients, consultants, construction managers, and logistics teams.
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment with large-scale and complex projects.
